Why grape alcohol demand is climbing across food & cosmetics

Beyond the bottle, neutral grape alcohol is finding steady new demand in flavours, cosmetics and clean-label food — and buyers in those categories are increasingly asking for it by name.

Cosmetics formulators like grape-derived ethanol for its clean regulatory story and low odour profile, while flavour houses value its neutrality as a carrier for delicate aromatic compounds. Both trends point the same way: more of the vine’s output moving somewhere other than a bottle.

For sourcing desks, that means treating grape alcohol less like a spirits by-product and more like a specification-driven ingredient — origin, purity and documentation matter as much here as they do in food-grade must or wine.
